SEOUL, Sept. 16 (Yonhap) -- Singer Kim Jong-kook will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut with a concert, “The Originals,” on Oct. 18-19 at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in central Seoul, the show’s organizer, Balgeunnuri, said Tuesday.

The concert will span Kim’s musical journey, featuring hit songs from his days with the group Turbo as well as his solo career.

“Everything I’ve achieved today is thanks to the fans who have stood by me for 30 years,” Kim said. “This concert will be like a festival that I create together with my fans.”

Tickets for the two Seoul shows have already sold out, and the organizer is considering additional concerts in other regions for fans who could not get tickets.

Kim debuted in 1995 as a member of Turbo, which produced hits such as “Black Cat Nero,” “Love Is…,” “Reminiscence,” “White Love” and “Twist King.”

He launched his solo career in 2001, releasing songs including “One Man,” “Walking in Place” and “Lovable.” His third solo album, released in 2005 and featuring “Lovable,” swept the year-end top music awards from the three major terrestrial broadcasters.

Kim tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend earlier this month.
