SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Yonhap) -- The Korea Heritage Service’s Palaces and Tombs Center said Tuesday it will host the "Sura-gan Tasting" program at Gyeongbok Palace from Sept. 17 to 26.
Held in the Sojubang kitchen area, the event allows visitors to experience traditional royal cuisine through tasting and hands-on activities.
Programs include "Tea Talk: Tasting," featuring royal desserts at Saengmulbang, and "Gastronomy: Tasting," offering traditional banquet dishes at Oesojubang. Participants may choose one program.
Free-experience corners will also be available, such as making "bok bukeo" (stuffed dried pollack) and "yullan" (chestnut sweets) at Naesojubang. Visitors can also taste traditional snacks like dumpling confections, dried persimmon sweets and chicken jerky at the "Kitchen Alley."
Admission is by lottery through Ticketlink from Wednesday to Sept. 2. Each account can apply once, and winners can book their preferred date and time. The paid event will be held twice daily at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
