SEOUL, Dec. 11 (Yonhap) — South Korean singer-songwriter Yoo Hee-yeol has tested positive for the new coronavirus, according to his agency Antenna Music on Saturday.

Yoo canceled his schedule and was tested for COVID-19 after feeling symptoms while conducting a self COVID test the previous day. As a result, the singer-songwriter received positive results that night.

However, Yoo was fully vaccinated at the end of August.

"Yoo will fully implement health authorities' antivirus measures,” Antenna said. “Our staff members who were in contact with Yoo Hee-yeol are also undergoing COVID tests.”

Other broadcasters are also on alert as Yoo is currently part of a number of programs.

Singer Yoon Jong-shin temporarily filled in Yoo’s place as the judge in JTBC's contest program "Sing Again 2," which was filmed the previous day.

KBS 2TV’s music program "Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook" will also invite special hosts to record the "Millennium Christmas Special" episode scheduled for Dec. 14. Yoo previously recorded an episode on Nov. 30, however nobody was classified as close contacts.

Kakao TV's enterainment program for Antenna Music also finished filming in the middle of last month.
