SEOUL, Sep. 23 (Yonhap) -- Trot singer Lim Young-woong who has gained a large fandom for winning “Mr. Trot” will take part in an OST (Original Sound Track) for a drama for his first time.
“Lim will sing the OST for KBS2 new weekend-series ‘Young Lady and Gentleman’,” according to the singer’s agency Mulgogi Music Thursday. This will be Lim’s first drama OST.
After winning TV Chousn trot audition “Mr. Trot,” Lim signed a management deal of 1 year and 6 months with the broadcaster. The deal expired on 11th September. The singer returned to his original agency, Mulgogi Music, and has recently kicked off individual activities.
Lim is also preparing his first regular album as well, according to the agency.
He is known to have the most powerful fandom as a trot singer and his presence in the music market is considerably strong. His popularity made the middle-aged fans to downland and stream his music showing a great affordability in the online music market.
The singer’s “Mr. Trot” winner song, “Trust in Me,” released in April 2020, is still on high rank marking No. 21 on Melon “Top 100.”
His new song dropped in March “My Starry Love” and “HERO,” music for a car commercial have marked high rank on charts gaining popularity.
