NAMYANGJOO, Dec. 13 (Yonhap) -- Member Hoshi of band Seventeen has recently been awarded with an appreciation plaque from Namyangjoo City, Gyeonggi Province for contributing to promoting acts of sharing.

Hoshi has been donating for his old school and the socially disadvantaged in Namyangjoo city, his hometown, since last year, according the official from the city Monday.

The artist joined “Honor Society,” a large donors’ club, contributing a 100 million won for neighbors in need in June. Last month, he sponsored 10,000 coal briquettes to low-income families.

He also donated eco-friendly disinfectant water when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out last year and shared fellowship to his old school.

“I always think about a way to pay for the big love I receive. I wish to be whatever support I can be to those who are going through hard times as the pandemic is still ongoing,” said the artist.
