SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Yonhap) -- Violinist Yang Inmo, the first Korean ever to win at World's leading International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, will be preparing for the first collaborative stage in Korea after such accomplishment.
Lotte Concert Hall announced on Tuesday that Busan Philharmonic Orchestra will host "Busan Philharmonic Orchestra & Yang Inmo" at Seoul Lotte Concert Hall on Nov. 10 to celebrate 60th anniversary of its foundation.
Prior to that, Busan Philharmonic Orchestra will hold commemorative concert in Busan on Nov. 2, the day of its establishment. Founded in 1962, Busan Philharmonic is the orchestra with third longest history in Korea.
Yang will perform in these two stages as a collaborator.
In this performance, Yang In-mo will perform Jin Eun-suk's Violin Concerto with Busan Orchestra,led by conductor Choi Su-yeol. Yang was selected as this year's artist by Busan Philharmonic Orchestra and has been working with them.
The orchestra will present Richard Strauss' symphonic poem "Thus Said Zarathustra" in the second part of this concert. It became popular after Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey." Professor Shin Dong-il, one of top leading organist in Korea, of Yonsei University will collaborate for this piece.
Busan Philharmonic Orchestra was the first Korean orchestra to present all of Richard Strauss's symphonic poems for three years since 2017.
