SEOUL, Feb. 23 (Yonhap) -- "I will never think about playing the role of a doctor again. I don’t have courage or confidence to play another character of Cha Young-min, or to do better.”
Actor Jeong Ji-hoon(40), who played a genius doctor Cha Young-min in tvN's Monday and Tuesday drama "Ghost Doctor," expressed his feelings about challenging a medical drama.
He mentioned in an online interview, "The name of the surgical instruments, medical terms, and the smell of blood weren’t all easy,” adding, “I think the character Cha Young-min will be the last doctor that I will play.”
“Ghost Doctor,” which ended on Feb. 22, is a fantasy medical drama where the body of Go Seung-tak(Kim Bum), a rich resident in the hospital without any sense of duty, is possessed by a spirit of a genius doctor Cha Young-min(Jeong Ji-hoon).

The actor, who was concerned about making it harder for viewers to hate an arrogant character, said, "I tried to display elements of black comedy to express Cha as a person who struggles to live after becoming a ghost."
Young-min and Seung-tak, who quarreled with each other since they first met, worked together to save patients and combat corruptions in the hospital, forming a perfect team and showing strong bromance.
Jeong said, "There was a concept I had set up to play Cha Young-min, and I found out that Kim Bum noticed it started using the same word as me," adding, "I realized that he is a hard-working actor.”
He explained the message that the drama wants to deliver as "We should be happy today, not later," and expressed satisfaction with the ending, saying, "I liked how it wasn’t provocative by not following the trend.”

Jeong, who took his first step as an actor with the drama "Sang Doo! Let's Go to School”(2003), has become an actor with 20 years of career.
He commented on himself as an “actor who is still learning from seniors, colleagues, and rookie actors."
Jeong, who has debuted in overseas as both singer Rain and actor Jeong Ji-hoon, mentioned that he is overwhelmed by the “K-content” craze that currently hits the world
"I've been on a world tour since 2005, and I was familiar with the people with stereotypes towards Asian singers at that time. But now, it has become natural for younger singers and Korean contents of high quality to win the first place in the global market. If I continue to walk on my path, I think something very interesting will happen again. As a producer, I dream about our K-pop boy group Ciipher going on the world stage.”
