SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Yonhap) – Lee Sang-hwa, a two time Olympic gold medalist in the women’s 500m speed skating in 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, will perform as a commentator in 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Lee Sang-hwa, who got married to a singer Kangnam in 2019, has mentioned, “I became a commentator for the first time since the retirement and I will try my best” at an online press conference of KBS “2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,” which was held on Jan. 4.
Other than Lee Sang-hwa, Lee Gang-seok, the former national athlete, also performs as a commentator from the KBS broadcasting team in Beijing Winter Olympics, which is held from Feb. 4 to 20.

Song Seung-hwan will broadcast the opening and closing ceremonies, while Jin Sun-yu and Lee Jung-soo are in charge of commentating on short track speed skating, and Kwak Min-jung is in charge of commentating on figure skating games.

Kim Ki-hyun, the head of the KBS division of Sports and the leader of the broadcasting team, said, "This is the year when the three big events will be held, starting with the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Hangzhou Asian Games in September, and the Qatar World Cup in November,” adding “We will promise the viewers to show high quality broadcasting.”
