SEOUL, Sept. 6 (Yonhap) --- Recently, five members of the boy group Enhypen confirmed to have contracted the novel coronavirus, and one of the two remaining members, Ni-Ki has also tested positive.
In addition, Heo Young-ji, a member of girl group Kara and broadcaster, also underwent quarantine due to experiencing similar symptoms.
Enhyphen's agency BELIEF LAB announced Monday through fan community platform, Weverse, that Ni-Ki, who was in self-quarantine, had coughing symptoms and was tested positive for COVID-19.
"Ni-Ki will be moving to a treatment facility in accordance with the health authorities' instructions," BELIEF LAB said. "The symptoms Ni-Ki are experiencing is judged to be mild.
As a result, the number of members diagnosed with COVID-19 within Enhypen has increased to six. All members except Sunwoo have been confirmed.
Enhypen went into self-quarantine on Aug. 26 after being notified that a filming staff who was sitting close to them had been confirmed the virus. Since then, Jung Won, Heeseung, Jay, Jake and Sung-hoon have tested positive one after another.
In addition to Enhypen, four confirmed cases occurred within the five-member band N.Flying, and girl group IZ*ONE's Jang Won-young and An Yujin were already confirmed with the virus, followed by Heo Young-ji's confirmed case, according to agency DSP Media.
As a result, TV programs starring Heo Young-ji such as tvN's "Comedy Big League" will inevitably be affected.
