SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Yonhap) -- Gimhae, a city in South Gyeongsang Province, will kick off its stamp tour event “Gaya Kingdom Gimhae” for tourists from Friday, the city announced Wednesday.
The city is known to be the seat of the large Gimhae Kim clan, one of the largest Kim clans in Korea. The Kims from this city claim descent from the ancient royal house of Geumgwan Gaya, which was based in Gimhae.
The city embraces the historical Royal Tomb of King Suro, the tomb of Queen Suro, and the Daeseong-dong Tombs Museum, alongside various other tourist resources such as the Bongha Village, Gaya Theme Park, Buncheong Ceramic Museum, and Nakdonggang River Rail Park are situated.
Participants of this upcoming stamp tour event can enjoy the event either as a passport stamp tour during which they will have stamps imprinted directly on papers or as an online mobile tour.
The 18-stop passport stamp tour will take participants all over the city to 18 different tourist spots, including the Royal Tomb of King Suro, the Daeseong-dong Tombs Museum, and Bongha Village, where there will be stamps ready for them to imprint.
The paper passports will be handed out at the Gimhae General Tourist Information Center.
Meanwhile, those who participate in the mobile tour will be receiving stamps by accessing the Gimhae Tourism Portal website, where they can scan the QR codes that they find at 19 different tourist destinations.
The city will be rewarding tourists with more than three stamp seals with a memo pad and a pen; a mug to those who have introduced the tourist attractions they visited in their personal social spaces; and a landscape magnet to those who hand in the receipt from a restaurant in Gimhae along with three stamps.
Tourists will be able to pick up their rewards at four different spots: Gimhae General Tourism Information Center, Gaya Heritage Exhibition Hall, Bongha Village, and Gimhae Gaya Theme Park.
