SEOUL, Mar. 8 (Yonhap) -- South Korean comedian Jang Dong-min has taken home the grand prize from one of the world’s best-famed international poker competitions.
The comedian participated in the recently wrapped-up Asia Poker Championship (APC)’s high roller (high-value betting) category held at the Da Nang’s Dragon Poker Club in Vietnam from Feb. 27 to Mar. 5. Jang took home 50 million won as prize money after paying about 3.6 million won as participation fees.
The APC is an international poker competition hosted by Korea Mind Game Members (KMGM), where poker players from all across the globe, including South Korea, Vietnam, the Phillippines, and Poland, participate annually.
As the winner of the APC, Jang is gearing up to compete once again in the World Series of Poker Competition (WSOP), which is widely acknowledged as the most prestigious poker tournament, where he participated last year as well.
The annual WSOP in Last Vegas has also been dubbed the dream stage of poker players.
