SEOUL, April 5 (Yonhap)-- Jinju city, Gyeongsangnam-do, announced on the 5th that the Namgang cruise ship "Kim Si-min-ho" has began operating.
The name of the cruise ship, "Kim Si-min-ho" is derived from general Gim Si-min, who defended the Jinjuseong Fortress against the Japanese invaders during the Imjin War, or the Japanese invasions of Korea in the time of Joseon Dynasty.
It will be operated every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1p.m. to 10p.m. and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10a.m to 10p.m. On Mondays, the cruise ship will not be operated.
There will be 2 boarding places including the Chokseok Naru and the Mangjin Naru at the foot of the Somangjinsan Mountain below the Mulbit Naru.
The fee for cruise ship will be 8,000 won for adults, and 4,000 won for those under twelve.
The course of the Kim Si-min-ho is a 30-minute circular course that embarks from its boarding place and passes by Mangjin Naru and the Naru at Chokseokmun, allowing one to see the beautiful scenery of the Jinjuseong Fortress in the Namgang River.
At night, one will be able to see the scenery lighting production of the Jinjuseong Fortress and the musical fountain in Sinan-dong from the water.
