SEOUL, Mar. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korean beauty and cosmetics powerhouse Amorepacific Corp. has named the British actress Tilda Swinton as a global ambassador for its skincare brand Sulwhasoo.
Launched in 1997, Sulhwasoo has been sticking to the “No Model” strategy for about 20 years; the brand then appointed South Korean actress Song Hye-kyo as its very first face in 2018.
Rose of the K-pop supergroup BLACKPINK was then named the brand-new ambassador last year as a part of the brand's “Sulwhasoo Re-bloom” campaign which was planned and carried out to transform the brand image.
Veteran British actress Tilda Swinton will now be joining as a global ambassador and completing the model lineup. Amorepacific explained that the actress has been holding an unrivaled position in the filming industry with her incomparable aura and splendid acting skills. She also made herself known domestically for starring in Korean star filmmaker Bong Joon-ho’s mega-hit film “Snowpiercer.”
The brand also emphasized that the actress expressed high interest in ginseng, one of the main ingredients of Sulwhasoo’s products.
The new brand video featuring Tilda Swinton is scheduled to be unveiled this month.
