SEOUL, Nov. 24 (Yonhap) —"Beomseok is someone who has accumulated feelings from his difficult environments."It wasn't easy to see him like that.
Actor Hong Kyung (26), talked about the worries and concerns he had while acting for the character Oh Beom-seok, a high school student who suffered violence within his family and at school, in Wavve's original drama "Weak Hero," during an interview actor Hong Kyung had on November 23 at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Hong Kyung said, "I refused this character because I thought I was not capable of tolerating all the circumstances the character went through," and added, "It was too much for me to learn how he feels in certain circumstances and in which situation he is stuck."
Oh Beon-seok was bullied by his friends at his previous school and was mentally abused and ignored by his father, who is a member of the National Assembly. He becomes friends with Yeon Shi Eun (Park Ji-hoon) and Ahn Soo-ho (Choi Hyun-wook) at his new school, but they run into conflicts as they get to know that he was bullied at his previous school.
Oh Beom-seok, who has been hiding his inferiority complex and loneliness, starts expressing all the feelings he has been feeling, beginning in the middle of the drama as he buys people to show violence.
Hong Kyung said that he was interested in the character because he felt that everyone has multifaceted emotions, which Oh Beom-seok is going through.
"I thought everyone would feel some kind of way while looking at this character at least once. Emotions such as love, inferiority, belonging, loss, deprivation, and homogeneity can be felt not only by teenagers but also by people of different generations. This point is where I was fascinated by this series.
