'K-Expo,' all about Hallyu, to be held on and offline in November for a month

SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Yonhap) -- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) will co-hold “2021 K-Expo” on and offline with the other departments for a month in November, the ministry announced Monday.

This year’s exposition will put various Hallyu events that were held in separate departments together such as the MCST’s “ON: Hallyu Festival,” the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s “Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo,” the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ “BUY KOREAN FOOD” and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ “Korean Seafood.”

The government will kick into promotional acts from the first of October when the festival begins. They will associate Hallyu contents and Hallyu commodities such as cosmetics, food and fashion with on and offline service.

Hallyu commodities will be on sale online through markets such as “Shoppe,” “Amazon” and “큐텐 Japan” with online influencers.

The government will also provide for online export counseling sessions during November connecting 564 firms related to Korean contents and Hallyu industries with about 635 foreign buyers.

Between the 8th and the 11th of November, an offline export counseling session, an exhibition of Hallyu related commodities and live commerce support office will be set up in COEX Grand Ballroom in Gangnam-gu Seoul.

They will aid for about 400 Korean firms’ export counseling and will put various Hallyu goods including actual contents on display. Also they will provide for taking videos of the goods on display to enable the sellers to sell them anytime.

An online K-Pop performance and a communication event for the Hallyu fans will take place through SBS KPOP on Nov. 6 as well.

Also, on the 27th of October, through “The 14th Korea-China-Japan Cultural Contents Forum,” in which the citizens and the governments of the 3 East Asian Countries participate in, the MCST will discuss ways for co-improvement of and an interactive cooperation between the 3 nations’ contents industry
