FRANKFURT, May 16 (Yonhap) – K-pop boy group NCT DREAM said ahead of Europe’s first K-pop mega festival on May 14(local time) that its European fans are very passionate.

The members revealed that the distinctive identity of NCT DREAM among other K-pop idol groups is that they enjoy while growing up together and their dream is to heal through songs.

NCT DREAM’s Renjun said during an interview with Yonhap News Agency, “I’m very much looking forward to the concert as I feel the great passion of our fans from Frankfurt Airport.”
 

When asked about NCT DREAM’s own identity in K-pop scene, Jeno answered, “In short, it would definitely be our development.”

He said, “We’ve shown consistent growth both externally and internally so far since we debuted when we were young,” adding, “I thought that the point where we grow up together and enjoy the development must be our distinctive characteristic.”

NCT DREAM, which performed on the stage abroad for the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak, has been showing great performances by achieving triple million seller with the first full album and double million seller with the second full album.

The members revealed that they will make a comeback with the second full repackaged album “Beatbox” on May 30. Chenle hinted by saying, “You can look forward to the album since the song is so good.”

Ji-sung told European fans whom he met for the first time, “I hope we could make a lot of memories together during the upcoming concert tour.”

Jae-min said, “We have visited Germany in Europe for the first time. We have always missed you we’re very happy to meet you guys after the pandemic ended,” adding, “We’re so thrilled and currently looking forward to your great cheer.”

NCT DREAM participated in Europe’s first K-pop mega concert “KPOP.FLEX,” which was held at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 14. KPOP.FLEX, which was held for two days until May 15, is Europe’s first ever K-pop mega festival joined by 10 K-pop idol groups, including EXO’s Kai, MONSTA X, ENHYPEN, (G)I-dle, and MAMAMOO.

K-pop fans from around 180 European countries filled up all 44,000 seats of Deutsche Bank Park, the home stadium of the football club Eintracht Frankfurt, where Cha Bum-kun, S. Korean former association football manager, played in the old days. It is estimated that the K-pop concert held in Germany attracted about 80,000 fans, including 30,000 audiences on May 15.
