SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Yonhap) -- The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra will hold a special performance, “AND THE WINNER IS….” at Seoul Arts Center’s Concert Hall at 5 p.m. on Nov. 27, the orchestra announced Friday.

The special performance will be conducted by Wilson Ng, Associate Conductor for the orchestra and Bruce Liu, the 1st place winner of the 2021 The 18th International Chopin Piano Competition will collaborate with the Orchestra.

The highlight of the performance will be Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1 in which Bruce Liu played for the finals for the Chopin Competition.

After winning the competition, Liu has been playing the piano in Poland, Japan and Israel. This is his first time meeting the Korean audience.

The orchestra will play Berlioz’s “Le Carnaval romain”’s Overture and Shostakovich’s “Symphony No.9” as well.

The former is known for its fast tempo in a short, impressive intro and a unique sound of an English horn. The latter carries its fast and cheery mood to the end to make the listeners feel tension.

Regular seats are sold out and tickets for choir seats will be sold starting from 4 p.m. on the 16th through websites and call centers.

The performance will be broadcast live to be watched with fee. Tickets will be available starting from 2 p.m. on the 16th through Naver live website (https://live.naver.com/).
