SEOUL, Oct. 19 (Yonhap) -- "Black Adam," starring Dwayne Johnson, is targeting weekend audiences for the first weekend of its release.

According to the data by the Korea Film Council on Oct.21, "Black Adam" is leading the Korean box office with since its release on Wednesday,

On the first day, about 67,000 people (54.9% share of sales), and on the second day, about 45,000 people (42.3%) watched the movie, recording a cumulative audience of about 114,000.

New hereo movie "Black Adam" by DC Extended Universe revolves around Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson), who became immortal from a slave in the ancient city Kandak.

The musical movie "Life is Beautiful," which led the top position on Korean box office last weekend, placed second with 16,000 audiences (13.2%) the day before.

The science-fiction "Everything Everywhere All At Once" starring Michelle Yeoh and the horror movie "Orphan: First Kill," both released last week, each placed fourth and fifth with around 5,000 people.
