Here is the full Q&A interview with Mew Suppasit:

Q. Welcome to Korea. How many times have you visited South Korea?

A. I have come to S. Korea personally several times for vacation, but this is my first time coming for work after debuting as an actor and singer. There is a big difference in that when I came for vacation, I was comfortable, only thinking about what to eat and what to buy. But now that I came for work, I have responsibilities, and I am always tensed up. Still, I look for must-eat places. (laugh)

Q. You have been collaborating with Korean musicians like Bumkey following Sam Kim. Who do you want to collaborate with next?

A. I have so many people in my mind. But artist for next collaboration is already decided. I will probably do the recording before I go back to Thailand.

Q. You got the role in Korean drama “Love is like a cat.” What made you challenge yourself to an BL (Boys Love) genre drama, which is quite unfamiliar to Korean fans ?

A. I wanted to show the public that love is not limited to gender. Same sex love is still one type of love. I wanted to show that love is for anyone with no gender discrimination.

Q. Were you interested in LGBTQ issue before?

A. Yes, and I support them. I can say this in any interviews, including this one, without no hesitation.

Q. What does music mean to you?

A. For me, music is one way to communicate. I think of it as a language. Although people may not understand the language, with music, people can communicate through feelings.

Q. What do you think are the differences between acting and music?

A. Music is to present my story. Based on my own experiences or the experiences of those around me, music is the way to tell such stories by interpreting them in my own way. Acting is more like going into one’s life.

Q. Can I interpret your answer as music is presenting myself, while acting is going into one’s body and present that person to others by researching that person’s personally? Acting shows the life of another character while music shows my life?

A. Yes. Music is presenting myself to others, saying like this is who I am. But acting is experiencing various lives that is not mine. I go into their lives and present them to others. These two, music and acting, are both special to me.

Q. Where do you get ideas or inspirations for music?

A. It’s different each time. In a situation where I had to make a song to give comforts to lonely or distressed people, I got inspiration from people around me. But there are some songs that I wrote instantly as the lyrics just popped into my head when I was riding a car or just walking down the street.

Q. Among the released albums, which song do you think best expresses your story?

A. I think all songs have their uniqueness, and they all represent me. Every song has my personality and thoughts at the time of the release. To think back on them now, today’s me may not think such ways. So, I think the newest album best expresses my current self.

Q. You released a collaboration song “Forever Love” with Bumkey on July 8. Can you tell us about it?

A. All the works for this song were done online. I met Bumkey just two days ago for the first time. He seemed like a really nice person, and it was really precious and comfortable to work with him. Also, he is really good.

Q. Was there a message you wanted to say through the song 'Forever Love?‘

A. This song can be interpreted in various ways. It may be different for each person. I want people to interpret it on their own ways as it can be a spoiler if I say it. It really has various meanings.

Q. Still, if you could give us some insight on what you think it means.

A. While I believe there is no such thing as forever love, this song seems to show forever love from the perspective of a person who does not believe in such love.
I personally believe there are no such thing as forever. Same goes for love. But what would it be like if there is forever love. In that, I think interpretation of the song can be different for each person.

Q Please tell us about what you pursue, both in music and acting.

A. Regarding the music, time period between this and previous album was long. It took seven months. I usually release a song in 2 to 3 months. I promise to release future songs in 2 to 3 months period. This song took longer times compared to other songs.
Regarding acting, I just finished filming drama “The Ocean Eyes.” I played the role of an animal vet. It will be released at the end of this year, so please love and support us. In the drama “Love Is Like a Cat,” which is currently under filming, I am the only Thai actor. It’s a new experience for me as everyone is Korean. I have another Thai drama scheduled, and this will probably be released at the end of this year or early next year.

Q. Do you have any goals such as ‘No.1 on Billboard?’

A. Of course I want that. But even if everyone wants to be No.1 on Billboard, there are so many requisites for it. Yet, I still want to be No.1.

Q. Do you have any Korean or global artists as role models?

A. For global artists, Ed Sheeran is my role model. Among Korean artists, it’s IU. As everyone knows, she is good at various things, including acting and singing.

Q. Have you ever thought about quitting because of any difficulties?

A. I always think about quitting when I am really tired or worn out. But I never give up because I always have these two thoughts on my mind: ‘Why am I doing this’ and ‘Who am I doing this for.’
I do this for the fans, for the people who love me. I have responsibilities because I do not think that I am walking this path alone, but with fans and people who I love. It’s more like repaying than responsibility.

Q. What do you want to say to Korean fans lastly

A. I am really thankful for fans who love and support me. I got lots of welcoming since I landed in airport. Although I am filming Korean drama right now, I want to do more works for Korean fans. If any Korean drama producer is interested in me, feel free to give a call. I can play the role of Korean unless I have to speak. (laugh) I can also do sign language, so contact me.
