SEOUL, Sep. 02 (Yonhap) -- Rookie girl band STAYC will return with their 1st mini-album “STEREOTYPE” produced by hit song maker, Black Eyed Pilseung and Jeon Gun on Sep. 6, according to their agency HighUp-Ent Thursday.
The album is a “TEENFRESH” concept which the group has been featuring. The concept is a conjunction of ‘Teenager’ and ‘Fresh,’ meaning teenagers with adorable and healthy ideas.
The title song “Stereotype’ well-portrays the concept. it contains a message that tells us to see the world unbiasedly.
The song was already made for STAYC 2 years ago by Black Eyed Pilseung, the representative producer of HighUp and the maker of the group’s songs since their debut and Jeon Gun.
“Stereotype” was the first song to be given to STAYC.
“The song most well matches with STAYC’s concept of making a healthy and fresh idol. I want the song to bring empathizes from generations and to touch the hearts of the listeners. I don’t want it to be another obvious love song,” said Black Eyed Pilseung.
The album includes songs such as “I’ll BE THERE,” “SLOW DOWN” and “Complex” as well.
STAYC, a 6-member-group made up of Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon and J, debuted in November 2020. Their recent song “ASAP,” released in April, gave them a noteworthy accomplishment for a rookie group scoring high ranks on major music charts such as Melon.
