SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- Actress Song Hye-gyo (40) will return in brown screens with another melodrama “Now, We Are Breaking Up” after her previous series “Encounter” 3 years ago.

The SBS TV’s new Fridays-Saturdays drama’s producers and cast had an online conference Tuesday and announced that the first episode will start at 10 p.m. on the 12th.

Due to the lead actor Jang Ki-yong’s joining the military, the conference was prerecorded in advance.

“There may be those thinking, ‘Oh, she is back with another melodrama.’ Growing older every year, I come to express romance in different ways as I learn more and experience more. Thinking that it will be different from the previous in another way, I wanted to take part in this drama,” explained Song.

Song played Ha Young-eun, manager of a design team in a fashion company who is passionate about both work and love.

“Of course playing the role itself was fun but as this character dresses her up more than the role I took in the previous production, I had fun decorating my appearance,” said Song.

“I consider it a fortune to have met this production before joining the army. As everyone tried their best into playing their parts, your love for the work will give me strength,” said Jang who chose the series as his last production before his military service.

“I was intrigued in that the series themed fashion. Above all, I wanted know what would realistic Ha Young-eun and free spirit Yoon Jae-kook’s love become,” added the actor.

The actor and actress have 11 years of age-gap.

When asked how the teamwork went with each other, Song answered, “As I saw Ki-yong walking towards me on our first filming day, he was just Yoon Jae-kook himself.”

“I still can’t believe she is next to me, especially when we are in front of the camera to act. I felt so nervous on the first day of shooting, but looking into her eyes made me naturally focus on my role. Seeing her changing into Ha Young-eun when shooting begins, I thought “Song Hae-gyo is the best,’” said Jang.

Director Lee Gil-bok said that the series’ strength point was that there aren’t any bad guys and that it can satisfy a wide range of generations.

“Although the plot is centered on stories of those in their 30s, we tried to realistically portray romance of various ages as well,” said the director.

The cast includes Choi Moon, Kim Ju-hun, Park Hyo-joo and Yoon Na-moo as well.
