SEOUL, Nov. 29 (Yonhap) -- Apple TV+ original series "Pachinko" has received an award at Gotham Independent Film Awards 2022.
The series won the accolade in the Breakthrough Series over 40 minutes categoryat the 32nd Gotham Awards in New York on Monday(local time),
Based on Lee Min-jin's novel of the same name, the series looks into the history of Korea through the story of a Korean-Japanese family who lived during the turbulent years from the 1910s to the 1980s.
Actress Kim Min-ha who starred in "Pachinko" was nominated for the best acting award in the new series, but did not win the award.
Gotham Awards is an award ceremony sponsored by the Independent Film Project (IFP), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to independent film in the United States, and is held in New York annually.
