SEOUL, Apr. 14 (Yonhap) -- Kerrias are in full bloom along the Orisup trail in Gapsa temple of Gyeryong-myeon, Gongju city, the largest habitat of kerrias in Korea.
This year, kerrias in Orisup trail bloomed on the 12th, two weeks late compared to last year due to the aftermath of winter drought.
The Gyeryongsan National Park office expects kerrias to peak this weekend.
Kerria, is a decideous shrub which grows to the height of a person, and it is named as 'Hwang-maehwa(meaning yellow plum flower)' in Korean because its shape of a flower looks similar to maehwa(plum flower), although it is a different species from plum trees.
Do Nam-gwan, a head official of Gapsa temple in Gyeryongsan National Park Office said, "Kerrias in Orisup trail look more beautiful with yesterday's rain on the 13th," adding "We will thoroughly manage the habitat so that tourists can enjoy a lot."
