SEOUL, December 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korean historical thriller film "The OWL," which was released on November 23, has topped the weekend box office for three consecutive weeks, attracting more than 2 million viewers.
 
The 'The OWL" recorded a cumulative audience of 2,050,000 on Friday afternoon, according to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Friday. 
 
The movie "The Owl," featuring actors Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol, is about a blind fortune teller who witnesses the death of So Hyeon, the crown prince, and goes on a journey to uncover the truth.
 
The comedy movie "Men of Plastic," starring Ma Dong-seok as the main character which was released on November 30, ranked second after "The OWL," attracting 460,000 audience. 
 
The Japanese movies "Even if This Love Disappears from the World Tonight," depicting an affectionate first love, and "Birth," depicting the journey of Kim Tae-gon, the first Korean priest, came next in rank. 
 
Hollywood blockbuster "Avatar: The Way of Water,"  which will be released in Korea on December 14, has been showing signs of great success, recording a 57.9% reservation rate. "Avatar: The Way of Water" is the sequel after 13 years to "Avatar" (2009), which was a mega hit.
