SEOUL, May 30 (Yonhap) – “My Liberation Notes,” which depicts the hardships of life, where people often get hurt by others, through heartbreaking lines, ended with around 6 percent in viewership.

The final episode of JTBC’s weekend drama “My Liberation Notes,” which was aired on May 29 at 10:30 p.m., recorded a viewer rating of 6.7 percent, according to a rating research company Nielson Korea on Monday.

In the final episode, Yeom Mi-jeong(Kim Ji-won), who had always lived with an empty heart, finally filled her inner side with love, while Mr. Gu(Son Suk-ku), who was afraid that his happiness would bring misfortune, put down the liquor bottle and stepped forward with lighter steps.

Yeom Chang-hee(Lee Min-ki), who had been with the people on their last days, chose to work as a funeral instructor, and Yeom Gi-jeong(Lee El) continued the relationship with Jo Tae-hoon(Lee Ki-woo) that she wanted so badly.

"My Liberation Notes" calmly depicts the process of three siblings filling up their lives little by little, which only felt empty to those living in Sanpo Village, which is quite far from Seoul.

In the beginning, there were reviews that the characters were indulged in self-pity, which spoiled the overall atmosphere of the drama, but the way they tried to move on without falling down gained more popularity as the episodes went on.

It is written by Park Hae-young of "Another Miss Oh" and "My Mister," which are considered "all time favorites" of many people, and received favorable reviews for portraying lines that both calmly and sharply point out the emotions that people feel in their daily lives.

Yeom Mi-jeong, who had never been filled up in her life, tells Mr. Gu to chuang(worship) her, saying that love is not enough, and revived with his worship. Gu also escaped from life that was like a dark tunnel through Yeom Mi-jeong.

The word “chuang,” which feels strange and awkward, became an opportunity for viewers to reflect on the meaning of love that has been common, just as it has been a motivation in life for Yeom Mi-jeong and Mr. Gu, who did not have a point of living their lives.

Besides the lines of Yeom Mi-jeong and Mr. Gu, those of Yeom Chang-hee, who always tries his best but seems to be far behind others, and Yeom Gi-jeong, who wants to love with all her heart, also expressed the feelings that anyone would have felt at least once in their lives. However, some responded that the emotional lines somehow felt too contrived.

Moreover, the actors who expressed delicate emotions also increased the immersion of the play.

Kim Ji-won calmly followed the emotions, which played a significant role in the drama. Lee Min-ki went back and forth between cheerful and serious moods, while Lee El served as a refreshing role with her random and lovely characteristics for somewhat heavy atmosphere of the work.

Son Suk-ku perfectly played the role of Mr. Gu, which is a rare character with few lines, and caused a craze for Mr. Gu.

On top of that, veteran actor Cheon Ho-jin, the head of Yeom's family, as well as other cast members with solid acting careers, such as Lee Ki-woo and Park Soo-young, added a sense of reality to the play. In particular, Lee Kyung-seong, who has been mainly active in theatre, drew attention of viewers with her realistic and impressive acting by playing Kwak Hye-suk, the mother of the three siblings.
