SEOUL, July 26 (Yonhap) -- "The fact that everyone looks at me is both pro and con of doing solo."

Singer Hezz (Hong Eui-jin) explained the difference between group activities and solo activities at a press conference for her single album "Churup!" on Tuesday.

Hezz said, "Although eyes only on me is great and happy, I also feel more pressured to do better because fans are looking at me."

Hezz was a main dancer of the girl group "Sonamoo" in 2014, and in 2017, she appeared on KBS 2TV's "Idol Rebooting Project The Unit" and made another debut as a member of UNI.T.

But she took on a challenge as solo with the single "The Eighth Spring" in last March when UNI.T finished its activities with the album "Begin with the end" in 2018.

The title song "Churup!", same name as the album, is a refreshing dance genre that expressed a girl in fantasy, unlike her previous ballad song, "The Eight Spring."

Hezz said, "I started solo activity with a ballad song. So I chose "Churup!" to show performances," adding, "Next time, it can be R&B, hiphop or dance."

She changed her name to "Hezz" from "Hong Eui-jin," which she has been using until the release of the new album "Churup!"

Hezz said, "I changed my name to Hezz so that overseas fans can pronounce my name more easily. I also put meaning of 'Zero to Zero' in zz of 'Hezz' to add my hope of becoming an all-rounder."

The song and music video of "Churp!" were released at 12 noon (KST) through domestic music sites and YouTube.
