SEOUL, April 14 (Yonhap) -- Director Jung Ji-in, of MBC drama “The Red Sleeve,” won the PD of the Year Award at the 34th Korea PD Awards, according to the Korean Producers and Directors Association, Thursday.
In the Best TV Drama category, seven works were nominated including the KBS’s series “Youth of May” (2021).
In the Best Radio category, five shows were nominated including CBS’s “Kim Hyun-jung’s News Show - Goodmorning Myanmar” (translated).
In the digital content category, the award was presented to the EBS web entertainment show "DingDongDang University," which explores values and wisdom that Generation MZ, who just entered the society, has not learned in formal education.
The TV section of the Experimental Spirit Award, which is awarded to outstanding experimental works, was given to KBS' "Kiss the Universe.”
K-pop girl group aespa won the Best Singer award, Lee Jun-ho from the MBC "The Red Sleeve" took home the Best Actor Award, and Shin Bong-sun received the Best Comedian award.
The Best TV Host Award went to Yoon Taek·Lee Seung-yoon from MBN’s “I’m a Natural Person” and the Best Radio Host Award was given to DJ Lee Jin-woo from “Economics you can catch by Lee Jin Woo” (translated).
Writer Seo In-hee, of SBS TV’s “The story of the day when the tail was bitten” and Writer Kim Kyung-ok of MBC Radio’s “Bae Cheol-soo's Music Camp” took home the Best Writer Awards.
The Korea PD Awards are hosted by the Korean Producers and Directors Association and are given to producers and broadcasters who have contributed to free speech and social and cultural development through broadcasting. The winners are decided by current producers in the field.
The awards ceremony will be recorded and broadcast on KBS 1TV on April 26, 2022 from 2:30.
