SEOUL, Jan. 19 (Yonhap) – K-pop rookie LUMINOUS, who debuted in September, 2021, has made a comeback in 4 months with their second mini album “Self n Ego.”

LUMINOUS said in a showcase held online on Jan. 19 afternoon, “I’m nervous and thrilled since this is my first showcase,” adding, “We’ve put a lot of efforts in the second mini album so please look forward to it.”

The album depicts confusion and worries between the “real me” and the “masked ego” with the theme of “Where am I.”

The album contains a total of 5 songs, such as the title song “All eyes down,” “MATRYOSHKA,” which emphasizes the singing rap, “Trouble,” which features dark and dreamy mood, “Blind,” which highlights the oriental melody and trendy trap beat, and an Arabian style hip-hop song “Want it more?”

The title song “All eyes down” is a song of base trap genre that emphasizes power. Its lyrics depict hope while raising question about the “fake hope” imbedded deep in the heart.

The member Steven said, “Our goal for this album is to rank No.50 on the chart,” adding, “We will prepare for the world tour as our future goal.”

Moreover, the group promised, “If we achieve the goal, it would be fun to change parts and make performances where the vocal members rap while the rap members take the vocal parts.
