SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Yonhap) -- Ha Ye-rin, granddaughter of renowned actress Son Sook, has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming season of Netflix's hit series Bridgerton.
According to industry sources on September 12, Netflix announced the casting through their official social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), posting a 30-second introduction video featuring Ha Ye-rin. She will play the role of Sophie in Bridgerton Season 4, based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer From a Gentleman, which focuses on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict.
In her role as Sophie Beckett, Ha Ye-rin will portray the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. Her character is set to bring depth to the story as she enters Benedict’s life, a man who has been struggling to find love on his own terms.
Ha Ye-rin, a Korean-Australian, is the granddaughter of Son Sook, a prominent figure in Korean theater. She previously gained recognition for her appearance in the Paramount+ original series Halo.
