SEOUL, Oct. 24 (Yonhap) -- Ulsan Namgu Management Corporation announced on Monday that the cumulative visitors at special Whale Culture has surpassed 1 million this year.
Visitors were counted from seven paid facilities including the Whale Museum, Whale Experience Hall, Whale Cruise, Ulsan Cruize, Whale Culutre Village, Whally Kids Land, and Jangsaengpo Monorail.
Free facility Jangsaengpo Cultural Warehouse was excluded from the tally.
Around 490,000 people has visited the special Whale Culture in the first half of this year.
In the later half of the year, the number of visitors increased due to the summer vacation and the popularity of dramas about whales, the Chuseok holiday in September, the National Foundation Day and Hangeul Day this month, the 103rd National Sports Festival, and the Ulsan Whale Festival, exceeding one million visitors.
Chairman of the corporation Lee Chun-sil said, "We self-evaluate that the fact that the total number of visitors has surpassed 1 million in a year shows that it has recovered to the pre-COVID-19 period," adding, "We will continue to be Ulsan's main tourist attraction that provides visitors fun."
