SEOUL, July 7 (Yonhap) -- It has been belatedly announced that girl group members-turned-actresses Bae Suzy has decided to fund for premature babies who are required to undergo heart surgery.

"We received a request to conduct a heart surgery for a premature baby in May," the Life Sharing Practice Movement Headquarters said during a telephone interview with Yonhap News Agency on Wednesday. "The request could be accepted due to a donation of 100 million won made last October for patients with incurable diseases and pediatric cancer."

"The patient in question is undergoing treatment after completing the surgery with Suzy's help," they added.

Suzy, who is one dubbed as one of the "donation angels" within the entertainment industry, has consistently provided financial aid for patients suffering from incurable diseases, pediatric cancer, and leukemia since 2016. The accumulated donation made by the singer-actress is around 400 million won.

In addition, Suzy has been making donations to help victims who suffered from torrential rain last year and the novel corona virus.
