SEOUL, Apr. 5 (Yonhap) – There is a small and skinny 19-year-old girl who has not become an adult yet.
The small body is full of furious rage that explodes when someone touches it. When the girl gets angry, she takes off her arm warmer and reveals the dragon tattoos that cover the whole arm.
Hye-young from the film “The Girl on a Bulldozer” growls towards the world while showing off her arm with tattoos to protect herself and her younger sibling, who is much younger and weaker.
S. Korean actress Kim Hye-yoon, who is ahead of the release of her first movie as a female lead, said during an interview on Monday, “It still doesn’t feel real and I’m very nervous.”
Starting with the supporting roles in her teenage years, Kim made herself known through the drama “SKY Castle” by playing the rich girl Ye-seo and received favorable reviews by transforming into the female lead Eun Dan-oh in the romance drama “Extraordinary You.”
“When I receive a script, I always imagine how I would act, but I could not imagine myself playing the role this time. That’s when I wanted to play this role even more. I was half worried and half excited.”

Kim mentioned, “The image of a bulldozer is totally different from what I have shown so far so I wondered if I would be selected for the role, but the director said that he liked how it sounded different and paradoxical.”
She added, “When selecting the scenario, I always consider excitement as the top priority. It might be hard when working but I wanted to feel proud and happy when I’m done with it.”
Hye-young, whose mother died when she was young and who takes care of her younger sibling(Park Si-woo) while living with her father(Park Hyuk-kwon), is not afraid of anything.

One day, her father gets into a mysterious car accident and falls into a coma. Hye-Young and her younger sibling are left all alone and started revealing the truth behind her father’s case as the family’s Chinese restaurant was taken by other person.
Finally, Hye-young gets on a gigantic bulldozer whose wheels are as big as her hands.
“Although I said that I could not imagine myself acting the role, there was an improvisation that came to mind while portraying the scene in my head. In the film, I went to visit an adult who killed my dad and got my cell phone taken away, and I thought I wanted to spit at him. The director told me to do it whenever I had enough emotions, but I couldn't and I still regret it.”

The actress said that she had a lot of mental and physical burdens as a female lead who appeared in almost every scene from the beginning to the end of the movie.
"I get angry at myself every time I feel exhausted while filming a work. There were many difficult moments during this shooting as well, but Hye-young doesn't get tired easily. So when I was angry at myself for not managing myself, I sublimated the anger into that of Hye-young. I was trained at an action school to shoot a fight scene, and it was hard but fun at the same time. If I have a chance in the future, I want to play some decent action performances."
The 15 rated movie, which was screened in the Busan International Film Festival last year, will be officially released on Apr. 7.
