SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Yonhap) -- "Our Beloved Summer," an upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama on SBS, is expected to deliver a fresh and young romance storyline to the viewers.
Starring actors Choi Woo-shik, Kim Da-mi, Kim Seong-cheol, and No Jeong-ee, "Our Beloved Summer" tells the story about a couple who has broken up but are reunited again after a documentary they shot together in high school becomes popular.
"The phrase 'reverse romance' would be the best way to summarize this drama," Director Kim Yoon-jin said during an online press conference on Dec. 1. "The story follows a broken up couple reuniting again after having fallen in love in the past at the age of 19."
Choi will play Choi Woong, a free-spirited building illustrator, while Kim takes on the role of a career woman named Kook Yeon-soo who is acknowledged for her ability but feels lonely inside. The two characters get together for the first time when they appear on the documentary.

"Every single character has their own kind of charm in this drama," Choi said while introducing his character as a person who "is not greedy and knows how to enjoy the small joys in life."
"There times when (Choi Woong) seems to be slacking off, but there are also scenes where I look sharp, which allows me to show two different charms at once," Choi hinted.
Kim Da-mi, who previously starred in "Itaewon Class," said, "Yeon-soo lives fiercely day by day, but after meeting Woong, she begins to grow and change," adding, "Yeon-soo looks strong on the outside, but she actually has a very soft heart."
"I wanted to try a more realistic character because I played a lot of powerful characters in my previous works. So, when I read the writer's writing (script) I thought it would be fun to act as Yeon-soo," Kim added.
The two actors, who were reunited in three years after starring in the 2018 movie "The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion" (2018), said they were able to act naturally because the atmosphere on set was comfortable.
Meanwhile, actor Kim Sung-chul plays Woong's best friend and documentary director Kim Ji-woong, and actress No Jeong-ee is a top idol star named NJ. The actress even bleacher her hair blonde to transform her image as an idol.
Director Kim said, "The work aims to capture the unstable and anxious feelings of young people," adding, "Although the setting is set in early summer, the drama will deliver a refreshing story like winter."
The first episode will be aired at 10 p.m. on Dec. 6.
