SEOUL, Sept.21 (Yonhap) -- Bruckner Orchestra Linz, Austria's prestigious orchestra, will hold concert in Korea for the first time in Oct.
Production agency In Arts Production announced on Wednesday that the concert will take place at Seoul Arts Center and Lotte Concert hall on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, respectively.
Bruckner Orchester Linz is an orchestra based in Linz city, a hometown of Austrian composer Anton Bruckner and where Beethoven finished his No.8 symphony, and this will their first to perform in Korea.
On the first day, Oct. 26, the orchestra will perform Bruckner's Masterpiece Symphony No. 5, and on the next day, splendid and cheerful Symphony No.7 among Beethoven's nine symphonies and Beethoven's piano concerto No.1, collaborated with pianist Cho Jae-hyuk, will be performed on stage.
BOL was an orchestra at the Linz State Theater, which opened in 1802, but changed its official name to "Bruckner Orchestra Linz" in 1967 and established itself as one of the leading orchestras in Central Europe.
Addition to regular concerts at the Linz State Theater where the orchestra is based, they perform as the main orchestra at Bruckner International Festival, which is held every year from Bruckner's birthday on Sept. 4 to October 11, the day of Bruckner's death.
Conductor Markus Poschner, who will lead the concert in Oct., is evaluated as a conductor who made BOL's unique way, according to Bruckner. He was selected as "This year's orchestra" and "This year's conductor" at Austria in 2020.
Bruckner's symphony No.5, one of the piece to be performed at the concert and also the main genre of the orchestra, is a masterpiece with the performance time of 80 minutes.It is not easy to hear such piece in S.Korea.
Before the concert on October 26, 50 people among pre-order buyers will be drawn to review points to focus on in Bruckner's symphony No.5 in the art world.
