SEOUL, October 20 (Yonhap) --“2022 The 9th World Congress for Hallyu” held to examine the difference between the past, present and new growth engines of Hallyu was opened at the National Library of Korea, in Seocho-gu, Seoul on Thursday.
The congress this year hosted by The World Association for Hallyu Studies and hosted by Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (Jung Kil-hwa) and Yonhap News Agency (CEO Seong Ghi-hong) and organized by The World Association for Hallyu Studies (CEO Moon Si-yeon) is a congress with the theme "New Momentum For Hallyu 5.0” and 17 people around the world in the field of it will be coming together and continue till October 21.
The opening ceremony will begin with the associate concert master of the National Gugak Center Ahn Eun-kyung's pipe and guitarist Kim Ki-joong's performance. Moon Si-yeon, the CEO of The World Association for Hallyu Studies said, "Hallyu 5.0 conveys the Hallyu which is not here yet," and added, "It should not be a one way, but we should look for ways for Hallyu and the world to develop and grow together."
Seong Ghi-hong, the CEO of the Yonhap News Agency stated, "Even though it was a hard time to freely travel for the past two years due to COVID-19, Hallyu got stronger and was always with International fans," and added, "I hope the congress this year would bring out active communication academic and industry wise, and lead on to the collision of various topics across various segments setting up a suitable base for Hallyu to take a step forward."
