SEOUL, November 15 -- Ryu Jun-yeol is well known as a prolific actor. He made his debut in 2015 with the movie "Social Phobia." starred in ten movies during the past seven years.

Ryu Jun-yeol will meet the audience again with the Korean traditional thriller "The Owl" on November 23 after "Alien," which was released in July.

As soon as the interviewer mentioned "prolific actor" to Ryu Jun-yeol, who held an interview at a cafe in Samcheongdong Jongno-gu, Seoul, on Tuesday, he said, "I do not have a goal or a dream, but I want to star in about 100 movies."

"It is not easy because the production period has gotten longer." I know that I won't be able to be the main character at all times, but short characters are also considered part of my precious filmography. I think I've filmed more than ten movies by now. It has been around seven years since I made my debut, and I think I have 70 more years to go. There are good supplements these days. (laugh)"

The reason Ryu Jun-yeol was able to participate in so many films was because there were directors and producers who thought about him. People might think that it's his acting skills, but Ryu Jun-yeol himself thought it was thanks to his comfortable personality.

"I think I am a comfortable person. (laugh) I take hints very well. I get close to people fast, so I don't think anyone has to feel uncomfortable. As the filming begins, you will have to spend time with me for 3–6 months. "I think actors or staff work with me because I'm comfortable."

Ryu Jun-yeol played Kyeong Soo, an acupuncturist who is blind during the day, in the movie "Night Owl." Kyeong Soo is a blind man who cannot see at all during the day, but is able to see slightly at night."

The movie depicts the story of Kyeon Soo, who was working in the hospital inside the palace when he got recognized as a skilled acupuncturist after seeing the death of So Hyeon, the crown prince.

He interviewed people with day blindness to demonstrate better acting and learned how to practice acupuncture from a Korean medicine doctor.

"There was a blind person among my relatives whom I would see at a relative's house on holidays. It felt like he was dreaming, and I tried to express this well in the movie. I put a lot of effort into acting."

Ryu Jun-yeol, who has been working non-stop, ironically said "I'm lazy" several times during the interview. However, since "laziness" could not be found in his acting, it was accepted as a form of modesty.

"When I first accepted the role of a blind acupuncturist in "Owl," I wondered, "Why am I putting myself through this?"I have some sides to me that are lazy as an actor. However, I often think that good results will come if I give up my laziness and act with full effort. I think that's why I'm acting with my best effort."
