◇ Lee Jung-jae, Jung Ho-yeon of 'Squid Game' win best actors in drama series at SAG Awards
South Korea's Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon have won best male actor and female actor in the TV drama category at the U.S. Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards for their roles in the survival Netflix drama "Squid Game."
At the ceremony of the 2022 SAG Awards on Monday (KST), Lee was named the winner of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, beating Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, and Jeremy Strong of "Succession," and Billy Crudup of "The Morning Show."
Jung also brought home the prize of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series over Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon of "The Morning Show," Elisabeth Moss of "The Handmaid's Tale" and Sarah Snook of "Succession."
They together became the second Korean actors ever to have won at the SAG Awards given by Hollywood actors, following Youn Yuh-jung last year.
And it is the first time that a non-English speaking performer has won SAG's acting awards.
"Squid Game" was also awarded Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a TV series. It outdid "Cobra Kai," "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," "Loki" and "Mare of Easttown."

◇ Celebrity donations continue to help the Ukrainian people
Celebrity donations are continuing in the Korean entertainment industry to help the Ukrainian people amid Russia's continued invasion of Ukraine.
Actress Lee Young-ae donated 100 million won to Ukraine.
Dmytro Ponomarenko, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Korea, revealed the photo of a check of 100 million won and Lee's letter, which were sent to the People of Ukraine, through Twitter on Mar. 1.
Lee said in the letter, "As a family of veterans who have experienced war, I sympathize with the horrors of the war more than anyone else.”
Actor Lim Si-wan donated 20 million won to the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea and booked an Airbnb in Kyiv intending a no-show from Mar. 7 to Apr. 4.
K-pop boy group U-KISS donated 10 million won to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea and personally met Amb. Dmytro Ponomarenko on Thursday.
The group said, "We hope our small donations can do any good for the Ukrainian people suffering from war," adding, "We sincerely hope the war in Ukraine comes to an end and pray for everyone's peace."
Moreover, singer and actor Yang Dong-geun, K-pop girl group Brown Eyed Girls' Narsha, and comedian Shim Hyun-sup each donated 10 million won.

◇ Kim Hye-soo’s ‘Juvenile Justice' gains global popularity… continues K-drama heat
The new South Korean TV series "Juvenile Justice" has entered the top 10 global rankings since its release on Netflix, continuing the heat of K-drama.
According to data released by streaming analytics company FlixPatrol, Netflix's Korean-language original, which was released on Feb. 25, jumped to No. 10 on Feb. 27 after entering the chart at 31st on the global chart the day after its release and rose one step further to No. 9 on Feb. 28.
Soon, the series ranked No. 7 on March 1 and stepped down to No.8 on March 4.
Starring Kim Hye-soo, "Juvenile Justice" revolves around a judge who is assigned to take charge of administering the punishment to underage offenders.
Kim Hye-soo said Friday that she hopes her latest legal drama, "Juvenile Justice," will play a role in jumpstarting social discussion on the controversial issue of young offenders and the age of criminal liability.
"I liked this piece because it deals with current issues that our society is now struggling with," the actress said in a media interview Friday. "The main idea of this project was so serious and grave that I felt a stronger sense of responsibility for my character than my previous ones."
