SEOUL, Aug. 30 (Yonhap) -- The production team of game developer Pearl Abyss's latest game "DokeV," announced to have been actively include "Metaverse" elements in the game.
In an interview with the production crew released by Pearl Abyss on Monday, lead producer Kim Sang-young said, "We are trying to add a lot of Metaverse elements to allow gamers to experience a real-life like environment while playing in the virtual world."
"I hope our game users can feel as if they have entered a world with real goblins when we start the game service in the future," said game designer Nam Chang-ki.
In particular, "DokeV" advocated a game that can be enjoyed by family members altogether.
"We started developing this adventure goblin game with the idea of families playing together," said Kim Dae-il, executive producer of Pearl Abyss. "We believed a unique game would be created if we could harmonize the characteristics of Open World Action Adventure games.
The lead producer added, "As a father myself, I started thinking if there were any games I could play with my child. I was then motivated to create 'DokeV.'"
In addition, action elements are also being developed to allow users to enjoy attacking enemies with the goblins.
"DokeV" is about a young character collecting goblin with his friends in order to solve missions and go on adventures. The tile-roofed house, a sotdae, lanterns, and traditional Korean kites are featured in the background of the game, highlighting Korea's cultural characteristics.
The actual game scene was first introduced at the German game exhibition "Gamescom 2021" on Aug. 25 (local time) and received positive reviews.
