Singer U-know Yunho found drinking until midnight at an unauthorized bar

SEOUL, March 12 (Yonhap) -- Singer U-know Yunho, who was recently caught drinking past 10 p.m, violated social distancing rules at an unauthorized entertainment bar.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the singer was drinking alcohol until midnight at a bar in Cheongdam-dong, which is located in Gangnam and was charged with violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.

The bar U-know Yunho stayed at was registered as a typical restaurant in the district office but actually operated as an unauthorized bar where female employees entertained guests.

The Gangnam-gu district office is currently considering whether to impose administrative measures on the bar for violating social distancing rules and operating unauthorized entertainment bars after the police investigation is completed.

SM Entertainment explained that "This was U-know Yunho's first time going to the bar and he only visited this place after his friend told him to meet him there. Also, there weren't any female employees there to entertain them.

"We will be reprimanded and punished for our mistakes, but we sincerely ask the public to refrain from forming false speculation about this situation," they added.

In addition, when the singer and other guests at the bar were caught, some of them tried to protest to the police officers, but they were not found using physical or verbal violence nor did they attempt to flee from the bar.
