SEOUL, May 9 (Yonhap) -- St. Louis Cardinals' left hander Kim Kwang-Hyun will re-challenge in the second win of the season against Milwaukee Brewers.

The Cardinals announced the South Korean as the starting pitcher against the Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at 8:40 a.m. on the 9th (KST, hereafter the same).

The current leaders of the National League Central division will play six consecutive away games against the Milwaukee and San Diego Padres from that day.

The 33 year old southpaw will return to the mound five days after allowing one run in four innings in the first game of the doubleheader against the New York Mets on the 6th.

Kim Kwang-hyun, who recorded no decision in two appearances after harvesting his first win of the season with the Cincinnati Reds on April 24, aims to win against Milwaukee, which he himself has a good memory of.

The Cardinals' third starter had an outstanding record of 0.75 (12 innings) earned run average against Milwaukee twice last year.

When he first stood at American Family Field on September 15, 2020, he struck out six in seven innings and met again ten days later to win his third win of the season with one run in five innings.

Milwaukee, along with the Chicago Cubs, will chase the Central District leader St. Louis by two games as of Tuesday. The three clubs are expected to compete for the district title by the end of the season.
