SEOUL, June 14 (Yonhap) -- The special reunion episode of the popular American sitcom "Friends," which starred K-pop boy group BTS as a guest, will be available to watch in Korea.
One of Korea's biggest OTT (Over-the-top) media platforms, Wavve, announced on Monday that it will showcase "Friends: The Reunion" for the first time in Korea on the 26th.
Like the title suggests, "Friends: The Reunion" features the original members of the sitcom including Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer reuniting together and reminiscing their memories of the show. The reunion was originally released on OTT platform HBO Max in the U.S. last month.
Comedian James Corden hosted the show while global pop stars such as Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga appeared as guests. In addition, BTS made a special appearance in a video during the show, which drew a lot of attention.
The sitcom "Friends" follows the lives, friendship, and love between six adults living in Manhattan, New York. The show was loved by fans for more than a decade since it first aired in 1994, and is well known in Korea as the "national sitcom" of the U.S.
