Seventeen to begin new world tour in September

SEOUL, July 22 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group Seventeen will embark on a new world tour in September to connect with international fans around the globe, its agency said Tuesday.

The "New_" tour will kick off with two concerts at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium in Incheon, just west of Seoul, on Sept. 13-14, according to Pledis Entertainment. The title reflects the group's pursuit of fresh challenges and growth.

The 13-member group, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in May, has been actively engaged in various projects, including the release of its fifth full-length album, "Happy Burstday," that same month.

"Happy Burstday" topped Circle Chart's albums ranking for the first half of the year, while its lead single, "Thunder," claimed the No. 1 spot on Melon's Top 100 songs chart.

The Incheon concerts will also be available via online streaming. Dates and locations for the rest of the tour will be announced at a later time, the agency added.
