Yoo Hee-yeol's music label 'Antenna' and Kakao Entertainment continue their partnership

SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) -- Kakao Entertainment will continue running their music and video content business in partnership with music label, Antenna, led by singer Yoo Hee-yeol.

Kakao M, the entertainment company made an announcement on the 12th that it has signed a contract to acquire part of their stake in Antenna and has made strategic investments including the contract.

The two companies are planning to discover and support artists from various music genres together and work closely in the music and video content business.

Artists from Antenna will also participate in dramas, movies, and Kakao TV's original entertainment, which are planned by Kakao Entertainment, in order to create synergy.

Antenna includes singer Yoo Hee-yeol, Jung Jae-hyung, Lucid Fall, Jung Seung-hwan, Kwon Jin-ah, Sam Kim, Lee Jin-ah, Peppertones, and Park Sae-byul.

Kakao Entertainment is also working on digital contents such as webtoons, web novels, movies, music and videos, and has various music labels under their umbrella, including Starship, PlayM, Cracker and FlexM.

"I hope this partnership will be an opportunity to steadily expand the pop music industry," Antenna stated. "We will strive to spread our contents we offer by following our own values at Antenna."

Kakao Entertainment also mentioned, "We will strengthen the competitiveness of the music and video content business through new and diverse attempts."
