SEOUL, June 16 (Yonhap) -- K-pop megastar BTS' Japanese album "BTS, The Best" exceeded 1.1 million copies alone on the day of its release, according to the band's agency Big Hit Music on Wednesday.

"BTS, The Best," which was released on the 16th, include songs from singles and albums that the septet has performed in Japan for about four and a half years since 2017.

A total of 23 songs are contained in the album, including BTS' original Japanese songs "Film Out," "Your Eyes Tell," and "Crystal Snow," as well as the Japanese versions of "Blood Sweat and Tears," "Fake Love," "Idol," and "On." The K-pop act's "Dynamite," which swept the music charts last year, was included as a bonus track.

BTS announced the release of "BTS, The Best" album by pre-releasing the song "Film Out" in April.

The song, made by member Jungkook in collaboration with Japanese band Back Number, topped the Oricon's daily digital singles chart shortly after its release, and also reigned atop the weekly streaming rankings by recording more than 10 million streams a week.

It was the first Japanese song by BTS to enter the Billboard main single chart "Hot 100," proving the band's popularity in not only Japan but also in the U.S.
