Funeral for late comfort woman
Lee Yong-soo, an outspoken South Korean victim of Japan's wartime military sexual slavery, euphemistically called "comfort women," waves in front of a hearse carrying the coffin of Gil Won-ok, her longtime friend and also a comfort woman, at a funeral hall in Incheon, west of Seoul, on Feb. 18, 2025. Gil, who campaigned to raise awareness of the World War II atrocity, died at 97 on Feb. 16. (Yopnhap)
