SEOUL, June 17 (Yonhap) -- The number of global pre-bookers for the new mobile game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG): New State" has surpassed 17 million, the game development company Krafton announced Thursday.

This record was collected excluding the results from China, India, and Vietnam on Google Play.

"PUBG: New State", developed by KRAFTON's subsidiary PUBG Studio, advocates an online multiplayer video game genre also known as a "battle royale game" and has developed off of the original "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" series.

The battle royale game recently finished the 'Alpha Test', which is a game testing service for users in the U.S.

"We will focus on developing the game based on various opinions our users have sent us and make efforts to release the next generation mobile battle royale game within this year," said Park Min-kyu, Executive Producer of PUBG.

Krafton's "Battleground Mobile India," which will be released in India also exceeded 20 million reservations within two weeks of pre-booking.
