Ahead of anniv. of popular uprising against Japanese rule

A Taegeukgi flag bearing an interpretation of the Jingwan Temple version of the national flag is attached to the wall of the National Assembly in Seoul on Feb. 28, 2025, one day ahead of the 106th anniversary of the 1919 popular movement that protested for independence from Japan's colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula. The temple's version of the national flag, which was used by the temple during the 1919 movement, was first discovered in 2009 during a renovation project of the temple in northern Seoul. (Yonhap)
