Traditional hair washing

A woman has her hair washed with water boiled with iris leaves during an event at the National Folk Museum in Seoul on May 29, 2025, to celebrate the traditional Korean holiday "Dano," or the fifth day of the fifth month on the lunar calendar that falls on May 31. Washing hair in iris water is one of the main Dano rituals, believed to add shine to the hair. (Yonhap)
