First lady meets students, teachers at Korean int'l school in Beijing

BEIJING, Jan. 6 (Yonhap) -- First lady Kim Hea Kyung met with students and teachers at the Korean International School in Beijing on Tuesday and offered words of encouragement, Cheong Wa Dae said.
Kim visited the school in the Chinese capital while accompanying President Lee Jae Myung on his state trip to China.
As a mother of two sons, Kim said she understands the importance of education and urged teachers to nurture students as global talents while helping them maintain their Korean identity, according to vice presidential spokesperson Ahn Gwi-ryeong.
Following the meeting, she watched students put on a taekwondo performance, observed elementary students make New Year's cards, and sent fried chicken to seniors that are graduating soon, Ahn said.
