SEOUL, June 7 (Yonhap) -- Rapper Jessi
(real name Ho Hyun-joo, 33), who is the emcee of SBS Mobidic web entertainment
show "Jessi's Showterview" (hereinafter referred to "Showterview"),
expressed her resolutions of the show at an online press conference in order to
mark the first anniversary of the program on Monday.
Jessie, who is known for her straightforward personality, hosted the show,
which drew attention from the beginning. There has been a number of impressive guests
including, actor Kim Yeong-chul, singers Psy and Lee Seung-cheol, comedian Yoo
Jae-seok, and Hollywood actress Emma Stone.
The rapper recalled her first day on "Showterview," saying, "I was
worried I wouldn't be able to do a good job because of my poor Korean
skills," adding, "I thought the show would last three to four months
at most. I didn't know I would continue 'Showterview' for this long, but it
feels good."
Jessi chose "Showterview" as her favorite show out of all the ones
she's worked on. "As the program started to develop, I kept thinking about
ways to make it more entertaining," Jessi said. "I want to continue
the program for a long time and show more interesting contents."
The 33-year-old rapper also thanked the program, saying, "I think I learn
a lot everyday while filming. While my Korean has improved a lot, I was also
able to grow as a person."
"Jessie works well with any guest," said Jo Jeong-sik (35), a SBS
announcer who is also a member of "Showterview," said, "Even if I
weren't here and someone else worked with Jessi, it wouldn't matter because
'Showterview' would be fun either way with Jessi.
Producer Kim Han-jin, who directed the program, added, "The charm of the
program comes from Jessi herself. I only needed to write Jessi's name with no
explanation on the proposal for this show because that's how distinctive Jessi
is."
Producer Kim also mentioned that as an emcee, Jessie's charm was that she was
"a free-spirited and honest person who always made me curious about what
she would say next."
Asked which guests the rapper wanted to interview in the future, Jessie picked superstar
BTS, BLACKPINK, ATEEZ, and the Refund Sisters, which was an idol group formed
on MBC's variety show "Hangout with Yoo."
The rapper also mentioned Emma Stone, who
recently made a special appearance on "Showterview," saying, "Ever
since Emma Stone appeared, there has been a lot of request for interviews from
around the world, so I hope we can interview actors like Tom Hardy."
